WATCH: Mike Waltz Reveals Big Problem With What Secret Service Head Told Them About Trump's Protection

The big question that everyone had on their mind after a second assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump on Sunday was how was this possible? How, after already having such a complete failure on July 13, could someone get that close to him again and within 300-500 yards, allegedly with an AK-47 and a scope? Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw said, “But with a rifle and scope like that, that’s not a long distance.”

Now, fortunately, they did a much better job, with the agent seeing the rifle through the shrubbery at the fence and a wonderful witness getting a picture of the license plate so they could nail the alleged perpetrator. If not for that guy, the suspect may have gotten away. Then, the police and the Secret Service did a good job coming out with what they knew at this point and doing a presser.

But how did the suspect get that close, to begin with?

That was the question that Rep. Mike Waltz (R-FL) had, and with good reason. Waltz is on the assassination task force that is looking into the first attempt in July. Listen as he first chastises the left for demonizing Trump, saying they need to stop the evil rhetoric, and then he explains something pretty troubling.

Waltz chastised the left for painting Trump’s candidacy as an attempted authoritarian takeover and said they barely paused in their propaganda after he nearly had his head blown off in July on national television.

Here’s the truly troubling thing he revealed: He said that the Secret Service Acting Director Ronald Rowe told members of Congress that Joe Biden ordered that Trump and Kamala Harris would receive the same level of protection as he, Biden, the current occupant of the White House.

Yet, Waltz said that wasn’t what he was hearing from agents, and if that were true, there would have been a much larger presence and variety of law enforcement around the golf course. He noted that Sheriff Ric Bradshaw said the same thing.

Bradshaw effectively explained Trump did not have the same level of protection in place as sitting president.

“But because he is not, the security is limited to the areas that the Secret Service deems possible,” Bradshaw said. Which isn’t what a sitting president would get.

So wait, what happed to what Rowe said to Congress? Did Biden order it or didn’t he? Or did someone just lie to Congress while still leaving Trump with deficient protection?

This isn’t one of those things you can say and not implement — Trump is in danger now. It’s crazy that they are basing protection on position rather than threat level. Trump is not only a former president, he’s also a present candidate and he may be one of the most threatened people in the world, under constant threat including from Iran, as Waltz explained.

This is insane that he is being exposed like this. They need to fix it. And now.
