Orchestra, the communications company that owns agencies like Derris and BerlinRosen, has acquired Small Girls PR. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
Specialising in influencer and experiential marketing as well as traditional earned media PR, Small Girls PR counts shaving brand Billie, P&G-owned skincare label Olay and workwear seller M.M.LaFleur among its clients. Based in New York City and Los Angeles, it has 75 employees. Under Orchestraâs leadership, CEO Mallory Blair, who founded the agency in 2010, will remain as CEO and become a partner in Orchestra.
Orchestra was founded in 2022 when BerlinRosen acquired Derris, which earned a reputation as the PR firm for several pioneers in the DTC space including Everlane, Glossier and Warby Parker. It rebranded from BerlinRosen Holdings to Orchestra this year, and has acquired eight agencies since 2022, bringing the total number under its umbrella to 10.
This acquisition is the latest example of growing consolidation in fashion PR. Fashion communications company The Independents has added five agencies to its portfolio in 2024 alone, including The Sunshine Company, Bureau Béatrice and Kitten Production, while The Lede Company acquired OBCM last year, highlighting a shift towards fashion PR players banding together to strengthen their competitive advantage.
