How would you describe your home?
Alive. I feel like there’s so many different colors. Different rooms have different vibes.
Is there a kitchen item that you use every single day?
I do use the Felt and Fat mugs every single day, and the espresso machine. The egg pan as well.
Do you have a favorite gadget that you use every day?
Other than my Kindle, which is the most low-tech, basic analog situation ever, but I love it so much…. Our coffee maker is a Breville Oracle espresso machine. It has a touch screen, so I’m not actually pulling the shots. Listen, do I know how to do that? Not really. So I don’t want to pretend like I’m becoming a barista when I’m not. It makes amazing coffee. It’s super high-tech. Both Sue and I wake up every day like—it is time again with this beautiful gift.
Do you have a strict bedtime ritual?
I’m trying to. I’ve been really on my bedtime bullshit—much to Sue’s chagrin—because I’m just dominating the bedtime. I like to turn in at a pretty early hour. If I’m in bed between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m., that’s ideal. I want to be asleep by 11 p.m. I try to read, that’s where my Kindle comes in major. I have dimmer lights on everything, and I like to turn the lights down and set the mood and just chill out. Our bedroom is really calm.
What is your ideal bedding setup?
Honestly, I need to get a new mattress here in New York. Tempur-Pedic mattresses are just the all-time best, pillows as well. And I like all-white bedding. It might be my thousands of hotel stays over the course of my whole life and career, but I find it to be very calming, clean, and easy.
Do you have a favorite room in your house and why?
The powder room is the fucking bee’s knees. I love it. It’s just so bright, that orange wallpaper. But probably our bedroom, which is a monochrome light mint with all of these different textures. I love being in there. It has a big mirror, and it is beautiful.
