Good morning, and welcome to RedState’s “Morning Minute” — a brief glimpse at which stories are trending at the moment and a look ahead at what the day may bring. Consider this your one-stop shop for news to kickstart your day.

TOP O’ THE MORNIN’

WHCA Throws Biden Under the Bus After He Snaps at Reporter, Claims He Has ‘Deals’ With the Press

They should be pushing for more, especially when media like the NY Times have complained in the past about Biden hiding from the media.

‘Reporter’ Gets Exactly the Reaction He Deserves After Term He Used to Describe Inverted US Flags

As for Reilly, the only thing he succeeded in with posting that tweet was ensuring that trust in the media erodes even further than it already has.

Soros DA Pamela Price Being Sued for Wrongful Termination Amid Allegations of Racial Discrimination

Pamela Price seems fiercely determined to throw away her career on all possible fronts. I see no reason to deter her from this chosen course.

WHAT’S ON TAP?

Today on Capitol Hill…

There’s only one meeting set on the Hill for Friday: The Senate Armed Services Committee is holding a closed business meeting to mark up the proposed National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2025.

White House What’s Up

Friday, President Joe Biden will spend the day in Italy, attending G7 events before departing late in the day to return to the U.S. How many gaffes will he wring out of his remaining G7 time?

Full Court Press…

Court will not be in session Friday for Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) and his corruption trial due to his co-defendant, Fred Daibes, coming down with COVID. The case was paused mid-morning Thursday and is set to resume on Monday.

However, SCOTUS will be back Friday with another decision day. That’s right — since we’re in the home stretch of hand-downs and there are, by my count, 28 decisions left to come, expect the pace of Supreme wisdom dispensing to pick up quite a bit. We will, of course, bring you the rundown of each set of decisions.

MORNING MUSING

Information overload is an occupational hazard with this gig. The flip side of that, however, is that I truly do learn something new every day. Like Thursday, for instance, I learned about the death of the petrodollar.

So Long, Petrodollar: US-Saudi Arabian Agreement Ends After Fifty Years

Of course, in some ways, I rather wish I hadn’t. I have a feeling this is one of those things, lost in the haze of all the other chaos around us, that will haunt us for years (decades?) to come.

LIGHTER FARE

Needed this today as an offset.
