At Art Bridges, we believe that everyone, regardless of their location, deserves access to American art. Art allows us to engage with cultures outside our own, building crucial community bonds that enable us all to thrive.
Yet significant obstacles often prevent museums and, ultimately, their patrons, from accomplishing this goal. Right now, there is an unequal distribution of art across the United States, and many collections lack works that reflect the experience of their local communities.
At Art Bridges, we work directly with a growing network of nearly 250 museums of all sizes and locations nationwide to address the lack of access to American art. We provide financial and strategic support to help arts and cultural institutions facilitate traveling exhibitions, coordinate collection loans, and develop programs that inspire and engage local audiences.
Whether through our Partner Loan Network, an art-sharing model that allows museums to circulate their collections, or our Traveling Exhibitions efforts, which help lower barriers for smaller museums, Art Bridges works with one goal in mind — expanding access to American art so that everyone has an opportunity to engage with meaningful works that inspire, educate, and reflect a diversity of voices.
