Donald Trump took the stage Saturday at a campaign rally at Wilmington International Airport in battleground North Carolina, but it wasn’t the GOP nominee who got the loudest cheers. That distinction arguably goes to two of his grandchildren, seven-year-old Luke and five-year-old Carolina, the children of eldest son Eric and wife Lara (who is also the co-chair of the Republican National Committee).
First, he brought Carolina to the podium, where she told the crowd, “Make America(n) great again!” They ate it up, but then Luke had his own moment where he said into the microphone, “Vote for Grandpa!” The audience loved it.

The audience cheered, “Carolina, Carolina!” after she left the stage. Meanwhile, it turns out Luke went off script—but that didn’t bother Grandpa because his line was actually better than Trump’s:
Trump told the audience that he actually asked Luke to say something else.
“I whispered into his ear, so cute, I said, ‘Say MAGA,’” the presidential candidate said. “He said, ‘Vote for grandpa.’”
“He didn’t care what I said and that was actually much better.”
Trump added that his daughter-in-law Lara grew up in North Carolina before continuing the rest of his speech against his opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris. Earlier in the rally, Trump stressed the importance of getting the vote out in the Tar Heel State.
The Real Clear Politics poll average shows the former president up by an exceedingly slim, point one percent margin over Democrat appointee nominee Kamala Harris in NC. As the race heads into the home stretch, this is the side of Trump the media hopes you’ll never see:
Sometimes the most popular President in world history is just grandpa!❤️

It’s not the first time a Trump grandkid has wowed the crowd; his 17-year-old granddaughter Kai Trump (whose parents are Don. Jr. and former wife Vanessa) got the audience fired up in July at the Milwaukee Republican convention, saying Trump was an inspiration to her:
“On Saturday, I was shocked when I heard that he had been shot, and I just wanted to know if he was OK. It was heartbreaking that someone would do that to another person.
A lot of people have put my grandpa through hell, and he’s still standing. Grandpa, you are such an inspiration and I love you.

She took a well-deserved potshot at the corrupt media:
The media makes my grandpa seem like a different person. But I know him for who he is. He’s very caring and loving; he truly wants the best for this country, and he will fight every single day to Make America Great Again.

As a father, I could not be more proud of my daughter Kai and the amazing job she did last night. She reached out to me on Monday morning and simply said she feels very strongly that she wants to talk about her grandfather at the RNC and she nailed it! pic.twitter.com/8QXiPO4jlu

The media and the Democrats depict Trump as a Hitler-like dictator, a “threat to democracy,” a racist, and basically just an all-around terrible human being. Their warped narrative, however, is hard to square with what we see on a consistent basis, namely his decency.
