Lookers plans city centre Cupra dealership to exploit Manchester café culture

AM100 heavyweight Lookers hopes to open a new Cupra dealership in Manchester’s upmarket St Ann’s Square, home to jewellers, high-end fashion stores, and al fresco dining.

Among the first areas in Manchester to be pedestrianised. the proposal outline plans for a new franchise in a vacant shop unit next to Black Sheep Coffee on Deansgate.

Documents reveal that Lookers intends to create an outdoor area with seven tables, along with an ‘afterwork area and exhibition space,’ aiming to blend showroom space with hospitality.

Zero emissions Cupra Tavascan EV SUVSix bike stands on St Ann Street would need to be removed to allow access for Cupra cars to enter the showroom, according to Lookers.

“The existing unit, currently vacant, was previously occupied by Fraser Hart jewellers,” Northmill architects, who are working with Lookers, told the Manchester Evening News. “Our proposal aims to complement the existing urban environment by refurbishing and rebranding the shop frontage, bringing the retail unit back into commercial use.”
