20 Best Quilts and Coverlets, Tested and Reviewed by Clever

The Company Store was founded in 1911 as the Lacross Garment Manufacturing Company. In addition to premium materials, one thing that stands out is the variety of bright and bold solid color and print designs. The company makes sheets, duvet cover, pillows, bed skirts, mattresses, mattress pads and toppers, as well as bath towels and mats, robes, pajamas, and home décor items. I’ve tested several items, including sheets and duvet covers, shower curtains, and outdoor mats. The Company Store is also included on our list of the Best Duvet Inserts and Comforters. This coverlet feels as good as it looks. It’s soft to the touch, and provides a great contrast to my neutral walls. The material is not weighty enough to be heavy, so I don’t get hot when I’m sleeping underneath it. I have the midnight blue quilted coverlet (in queen) and quilted shams. Since I’m currently in a “blue phase,” I love the dark color, which has a soft sheen and looks luxurious on my bed. —T.W.

Pebbled Handstitched Organic Quilt

Coyuchi bedding really stands out in its craftsmanship, as contributor Nicole Benjamin found when trying out the brand’s velvet quilt. She found herself impressed by the quilt’s “premium quality, luxurious feel, and stylishness,” calling it an “indispensable part” of her bedding—so it’s safe to say that’d be the case with some of the brand’s other pieces, like this pebbled quilt. Inspired by traditional kantha quilts from India, this quilt from Coyuchi adds a bit of extra texture to your bedding thanks to the subtle, contrasting hand-done embroidery. Available in four colors, it’s an ideal piece for layering.

Quince is known for its quality, budget-friendly linen—from pajamas to bedding. Available in seven colors and three sizes, the midweight linen construction is a good layer to use all year round. Plus it’s ultrasoft and comfy.

Feel like you’re living the hotel life every night with this coverlet off Amazon. The chic quilted stripe is a modern take on the classic pattern, and the coverlet is available in six colors, ranging from ivory to teal. Each of these blankets recycles approximately 30 plastic bottles, so you’re doing good while you snooze. Designed with an ultrasmooth fiber blend—it only gets softer the more you wash it—and dyed with chemical-free colors, the quilted pattern will add a playful touch to your bedroom.

Sporting an oversized box stitch, this quilt is a great year-round option. But the thing we love the most is the color options—all 14 of them. The blanket was designed to match The Citizenry’s entire line of stonewashed linen bedding, but the rich colors are easy to mix and match with all kinds of patterns and textures.

Courtesy of Banana Republic’s recently launched home brand, the Lofty Silk quilt offers another bedding option sure to inject some hotel-level luxury into your space. The silk material combined with the pin-tuck stitches lend a plushness that makes the white quilt (also available in truffle grey or a blue slate color) even look a bit more like a duvet or comforter.

The graphic design of this quilt packs a ton of personality. It’s made with premium cotton and polyester threading—a combination made for comfort and longevity. Even better: It’s reversible, with two eye-catching color schemes on either side, perfect for the sleeper who can’t settle on just one bedroom color scheme.
